About E.F. Wildermuth Foundation

A cousin to Ora Wildermuth, former president of the Indiana University board of trustees, E. F. Wildermuth lived in Columbus, Ohio, and made his living manufacturing spectacles for optometrists. After his death, the E. F. Wildermuth Foundation was established, contributing a majority of its assets to schools and colleges of Optometry. As a result of outright and matched gifts, the E. F. Wildermuth Foundation Endowed Scholarship has awarded thousands in scholarship monies to Indiana University optometry students.
