Robert F. Hartsook is the founding president and CEO of Hartsook Companies, Inc., a fund-raising consulting firm, has counseled not-for-profit and development professionals. He is one of most well-known fundraisers in the country today. He was recognized with the naming of the first academic Chair in Fundraising in the world: The Robert F. Hartsook Chair in Fundraising at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. He established Hartsook Institutes for Fundraising, a multi-campus network of institutes dedicated to a knowledge, research, and competency-based curriculum designed to improve the quality of fundraising professionals.
Hartsook also created the Integrated Fundraising Campaign, a national seminar series that has been influential with thousands of organizations from border to border in the United States. Hartsook is a prolific writer, having published six books on fundraising, as well as contributing numerous articles to leading publications such as The Chronicle of Philanthropy and The NonProfit Times.
As a colleague and protégé of fundraising pioneer Arthur C. "Art" Frantzreb, Hartsook helped establish the Arthur C. Frantzreb Lectureship at the Center, which provides an opportunity for scholars and practitioners to increase their understanding of philanthropy.
Emporia State University honored Hartsook with their Distinguished Alumni Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics, a Master's Degree in Counseling, a law degree and a Doctorate in Education.
