Cathy Danyluk has been a consultant with the Indiana Department of Education for 28 years and serves as the chief state attendance officer, as the state juvenile justice specialist, and as the Director of Student Services. She is certified in School Safety Leadership by the National School Safety Center and is a member of the International Association of School Safety Professionals. Danyluk also served as a part-time instructor at the IU School of Education. She earned her B.A. in psychology from IU in 1982 and her M.S. in Counseling from IU in 1984.
She has presented at several national conferences to address the issue of school violence prevention. She works on multiple collaborative initiatives with law enforcement (state and federal) on prevention and enforcement programs for juveniles. She serves on the Indiana Juvenile Detention Alternative Inititative Steering Committee and is the Indiana Department of Education representative to the Marion County Leadership in Action team. For her efforts in addressing school violence in Indiana, the FBI awarded her the Director's Community Leadership Award in 2013.
