About Mari Hulman George

Mari Hulman George is the daughter of Anton and Mary Fendrich Hulman and the current chairwoman of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Hulman and Company. The positions passed to her when her mother's health began to decline. George is famous for officially starting the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 races.

Carrying on a family tradition, George is a noted philanthropist. She is active in the rescue and adoption of animals, specifically greyhounds, and donates often to institutions of higher learning. She has been a strong supporter of the IU School of Medicine for many years.
