Robert A. Cowie retired as the vice president of public affairs at the Dana Corporation in 1990. Cowie is a 1955 graduate of Cornell University. He also earned his B.M.E. from Cornell in 1956 and M.B.A. in 1957.
Cowie is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He also has served as vice chair of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Auto Parts Advisory Committee, which deals with the issue of the auto parts trade deficit with Japan, and chair of the Public Affairs Council of MAPI.
