About Henry B. Schacht

Henry B. Schacht is a senior advisor to the board at Alcoa Inc. and a special limited partner of Warburg Pincus LLC. Prior to these positions, Schacht was the chairperson, CEO, and senior advisor of Lucent Technologies. Schacht made his name in the business world at Cummins Inc., where he was CEO from 1973 to 1994 and chairperson from 1977 to 1995.

He has served on a number of boards, including at AT&T, Chase Manhattan, and the Ford Foundation. Schacht is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University, and an honorary trustee of The Brookings Institution.

Schacht received his bachelor's education at Yale University and earned his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
