About Cathy Bellamy

Cathy Bellamy has established several influential nonprofit agencies in Northwest Indiana, including the Hammond Education Foundation (HEF) and the Legacy Foundation. HEF’s mission is to support learning experience for K-12 students through educational opportunities not normally available through school budgets. The Legacy Foundation’s mission is to transform Lake County by providing strategic leadership and impactful philanthropic support to ensure equitable opportunities for all communities.

Cathy Bellamy remains one of Northwest Indiana’s most inspirational leaders and continues to inspire students as well as other professionals. Her numerous community involvements have gone a long way and will remain as a legacy to Northwest Indiana.

In acknowledgment of her innovative contributions to Northern Indiana through her various partnerships with nonprofit organizations and elite companies, Cathy Bellamy and her husband Calvin Bellamy were presented with an IU Northwest Chancellor and Provost Medallion in 2015.
