Barbara J. Bealer earned her bachelor's from University of California Los Angeles in 1971. She began worked in New York City in 1979 at PricewaterhouseCoopers and later transitioned to become Partner at Tax Training in 1985. She is now retired.
Her philanthropic connection to IU showcases her dedicated support to IU. In 1989, she and her husband, David Greene, established The George E. and Vera Wampler Greene Scholarship at the IU Bloomington School of Business. This scholarship was created in memory of her husband's parents. Over the years they established more scholarships. This includes the David Greene and Barbara Bealer Scholarship in the Athletic Endowment Fund, David Greene Fellowship, and the David E. Greene and Barbara J. Bealer Endowed Scholarship at the Maurer School of Law.
For her unwavering philanthropic support, IU Foundation presented her with the Presidents Circle Laurel Pin in 2013.
Barbara Bealer and David Greene received the Bicentennial MEdal for their distinguished service to Indiana University.
