About Jonathan Weidberg

Fourteen-year-old Jonathan Weidberg was the first recipient of the IUPUI Chancellor's Medallion in recognition of his heroic efforts in support of his mother Wendy's cancer treatment at the IU Cancer Center. At age 7, after his mother was disagnosed with cancer, Jonathan started Jonathan's Mouse Fund to raise money to help buy the research mice needed to study treatments for his mother's disease. He raised over $26,000 and drew national attention to this important issue.

In front of a record crowd of nearly 400 people in attendance, Jonathan was awarded the Chancellor's Medallion by IUPUI Chancellor Gerald L. Bepko at the 13th Annual Spirit of Philanthropy Celebration.
