Dr. Eugene Henry “Ned” Lamkin, Jr., was recognized for his legendary innovation in health care in Indiana and beyond. Lamkin’s career includes service as a military physician as well as executive positions in healthcare and 16 years in public service as an Indiana State Representative. He was the past vice president and president of the medical staff of Methodist Hospital and more recently served as president and CEO of the Indiana Employers Quality Health Alliance, a coalition of Indiana employers representing over 50,000 employees, committed to creating a quality focused Indiana health care system.
Lamkin is a Fellow of the Indiana Academy, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and served on multiple board in healthcare and philanthropy. He was the president of the Lumina Foundation for Education and served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Health Information Exchange as well. Lamkin is a key example of what can be accomplished when actions are driven by true passion, and he certainly will always remain as one of the most acclaimed figures in health care in Indiana and in the Mid-West.
In appreciation of his leadership, key contributions to the health care field, and service to his community, Lamkin was presented an IUPUI Chancellor and Provost Medallion by Chancellor Charles R. Bantz in 2009. Lamkin is a Sagamore of the Wabash recipient, an award bestowed by the Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb.
