Diane Bever is an emeritus librarian from Indiana University, Kokomo. She received a B.A. in Sociology and Recreation from Purdue University, and an M.L.S. from Indiana University, Bloomington. Bever dedicated 38 years of service to the IU Kokomo Library before retiring in February 2017. Bever played a key role in developing the Kokomo Oral History Collection, an archive of audio recordings and transcripts of oral history interviews conducted for the 50th and 60th anniversaries of the IU Kokomo campus, as part of the Indiana University Bicentennial Oral History Project. Bever’s dedication and commitment to making IU Kokomo a great educational space has made her a strong role model for emerging leaders in the library community.
In recognition of her longstanding service to IU Kokomo through her work as a librarian, her support to students in assisting their research projects, and her active involvement in numerous Library associations around the state, Bever was presented an IU Kokomo Chancellor and Provost Medallion in 2017.
