IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2017

About P. Kent Hawryluk

Hawryluk is a School of Science alumnus and biotechnology entrepreneur who established the Hawryluk Family Scholarship in 2016. This endowed scholarship will provide critical funding to junior and senior students who have a strong academic record, are working and potentially supporting a family while attending school, and are in need of financial support to complete essential courses required to achieve timely graduation.

By helping students complete this "last mile" of their undergraduate education, Hawryluk hopes to empower the Hawryluk Scholars as future contributors to the growing and critical Indiana STEM workforce. The School of Science applauds Kent Hawryluk for the extraordinary resources he has invested in the school and for being a visionary who believes in the impact that will be made by students from the School of Science at IUPUI.
