The Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana (CFNI) is a nonprofit organization that manages the operation of Community Healthcare System (Powers Health) as its core charitable duty. This healthcare system is comprised of four nonprofit hospitals: Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, and Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center. With over 30 services and specialties available as well as classes and events for all patients, Powers Health’s impact in the Northwest community is irreplaceable; with more than 100 locations over the region, their medical system is used by tens of thousands of patients every day.
In recognition of their unwavering service to the Northwest community through their exceptional commitment to provide health resources to enhance the quality of life of its residents, the Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana was presented with an IU Northwest Chancellor and Provost Medallion in 2014.
