About Georgia Frey

Professor Frey completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from California State University, Chico, in 1986. She earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology from University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1990 and a Ph.D. in Human Performance from Ohio State University in 1993.

Her service to higher education includes Assistant Professorships from 1992-1994 at State University of New York, Cortland, and 1994-2000 at Texas A & M University, College Station. While at Texas A & M University in 1997, Frey was honored as Montague Scholar through the Center for Teaching Excellence.

Frey was named Mary Switzer Fellow by the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research in 1998, and received the Friend of Autism Award from the South Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society for Autism in 2004. She has been recognized in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers, 2005.

Her research focuses on the physiological responses to exercise; fitness; physical activity behavior and health in people with disabilities across the lifespan.
