About Barbara Dennis

Dennis began teaching at IU in 2001 and is Associate Professor at the School of Education, Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology. She conducts qualitative educational research on the complexities of diversity, and pragmatic theory of care involving an integration of feminist theory, critical epistemology, and symbolic interactionism. In addition to receiving the 2013 Fulbright Award which took her to Kymabogo University in Uganda, Dennis is also the recipient of IU's GLBT Spirit Award.
