Tom Veldman is a co-owner and the Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Tire Rack, a privately held firm that sells tires, wheels, and automotive accessories online and through a call center based in South Bend, Indiana. Tire Rack is now the country's largest online seller of passenger and light truck tires, with more than 700 employees and 9 distribution centers that total over 2.3 million square feet and provide next-day ground delivery to more than 85 percent of the U.S. population. Tom has been with Tire Rack for 27 years, returning to work in his family's then ten-year-old mail-order business a year after becoming a shareholder in the law firm of Johnson & Swanson (later Johnson & Gibbs) in Dallas, Texas. After earning a JD degree from Notre Dame Law School, Tom clerked for a federal appeals court judge in Washington, D.C., and then practiced corporate and securities law with Johnson & Swanson. His career path began with three years of retail and commercial banking.
Tom currently serves as Chairman on the volunteer board of Holy Cross Village, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community operated by the Brothers of Holy Cross.
Tom earned a BS degree in Management and Administration and an MBA degree in Finance from the Kelley School in 1976 and 1978, respectively.
