- IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2018
Rob Müller is an alum of IU's Department of Journalism and Public Relations in the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Because he suffered from attention deficit disorder and dyslexia, he decided to postpone his post-high school education. However, with the assistance of IUPUI's Adaptive Educational Services, Müller was able to get the help he needed to overcome these disabilities and graduate with high honors in 2008 - at nearly forty years old.
The staff and services at Adaptive Education Services (AES) had a profound impact on Müller's life, fueling his desire to help others who suffer with learning disabilities. In 2011, Rob and his wife, Mikala Müller, created the Charles Müller Memorial Scholarship, the first of its kind at AES. Named for Rob's father, a former IU student, the purpose of the scholarship is to provide support to students who have excelled academically despite learning disabilities.
