IU Indianapolis Spirit of Philanthropy Award - 2018

About Katrina Engle

Katrina and her husband, Dr. William Engle, began vacationing with their family at IU's Camp Brosius in the 1980s. Since then, they have volunteered to transform the property, one building at a time.

In the late 2000s, on behalf of the IU School of Physical Education and Tourism Management, the couple served on the camp's fundraising leadership committee, helping to prioritize fundraising initiatives to facilitate and ensure future donations. Their continued fundraising advocacy epitomize philanthropic efforts by example.

Their most recent gifts helped enable the demolition and new construction of a two-story administrative office and lounge, a project fully funded through the philanthropy of guests and friends. Dr. William and Katrina Engle continue to fuel other's desires to give by supporting the camp's yearly property and programs.
