Meredith Addison, a lifelong public health advocate, is a staff nurse in the emergency department at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She is president of the Wabash Valley Emergency Nurses Association and is a member of the board of directors for the Indiana Rural Health Association, the Homeland Security Task Force and the Indiana State Trauma Care Committee. Between the years 1985 to 1995, she served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps.
In 2016, she established the Addison Public Health Scholarship in honor of Paul Halverson, professor and founding dean of the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. Through that scholarship and other efforts, Addison continues to champion more individuals to study public health. The scholarship supports students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Public Health program, continuing her own legacy of improving public health.
