William "Jay" Wilkinson is an IU alumnus that graduates in 1985 with a B.S. in Public Affairs. As a student, Jay was active with the Army ROTC program. He is a Tau Kappa Epsilon alumnus.
Jay is the president and CEO of the Peoplelink family of companies, which is based in South Bend, Indiana, and has been recognized as one of the top 100 staffing and human resources companies in the United States. Peoplelink has received multiple awards from Ernst and Young, and has been included on Inc. Magazine's top 500 list of fastest-growing, privately held firms in the United States. In 2016, he became the CEO of Hoosier Investments " a private equity firm specializing in investing in firms operating in the light of manufacturing, human services, fabrication, distribution, and commercial service sectors.
In 2016, Wilkinson endowed The Nancy Wilkinson Athletic Scholarship to honor his late wife. The scholarship is given annually to at least one female varsity athlete. The following year, it was announced that the Wilkinson family made a generous gift to IU Athletes to create a new, state-of-the-art, 3,000-seat multi-use facility. It serves as a home venue for the Hoosier Volleyball and Wrestling programs. In gratitude, the university named justly named the building Wilkinson Hall.
In 2018, IU Foundation recognized Wilkinson's philanthropic spirit and support by inducting him into the Presidents Circle at the Founder level. For his tireless dedication to IU Athletics, he was awarded the Bicentennial Medal 2019.
