About E. Jane Luzar

E. Jane Luzar, Ph.D. was appointed founding Dean of IUPUI's Honors College in July of 2009. She worked on developing the new school's programs and curriculum. Luzar served as a professor of Natural Resource Economics in the School of Liberal Arts' Department of Economics and as a professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She was director of the IUPUI Common Theme Project, which promoted campus unity, conversation, and collaboration on timely issues that connected IUPUI to central Indiana and the world at large.

Luzar came to IUPUI from the University of Florida, where she served as Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences from 1999 to 2006. While there, she supervised student services and programs, administered a distance education program, and oversaw the school's honor's program. Luzar is a former member of the Peace Corps.
