About Dan Li

Dan Li earned her B.A. from Peking University in 1997 and her M.S. from Tsinghua University in 1999. Upon completion, she continued her education at Texas A&M University where she earned her Ph.D. in 2005. She joined the Indiana University (IU) Kelley School of Business faculty in 2005 as an acting assistant professor of management. Since joining, she has held numerous titles and appointments, including Chairperson of the Management and Entrepreneurship Department, Professor of International Business, and L. Leslie Waters Chair in International Business.

Li’s areas of expertise include the management of multinational enterprises, international strategic alliances, and internationalization processes. Li has authored several articles and papers related to these topics and more that have appeared in premier business journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, the Strategic Management Journal, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Management.

Throughout her robust teaching career, Li has been recognized with a variety of honors and awards. She was the recipient of numerous awards, such as the Sauvain Teaching Award in 2016, the Doctoral Student Association’s Exceptional Inspiration and Guidance Award in 2015, and the Institute for Advanced Study’s Research Award in 2014 – just to name a few.
