About Carol Wood

Carol Wood, Executive Director of Information Technology and an adjunct professor of Chemistry, began her employment at IU in 2000. As a student, Wood was the recipient of others' philanthropy. In working with IU Northwest students, Wood has seen first-hand how stressful it is for students struggling to pay tuition. Her gratitude for the help she received in the past has driven her to pay-it-forward so that others may attain their own goals of higher education.

Since coming to IU Northwest, both she and her husband, Nelson DeLeon, have committed themselves to science outreach and education. Together, they have endowed the Carol and Nelson DeLeon Chemistry Scholarship for deserving students in their field of study.
