Dr. James Wessar earned a B.S. and an O.D. in Optometry at IU in 1962 and 1963 respectively.
Dr. Wessar has been a dedicated and committed servant to the IU School of Optometry for many years. He maintains an optometry practice in Anderson, Indiana, with over forty years of practicing general vision care, children's vision care, and specializing in learning disabilities and developmental vision. Dr. Wessar has been a featured lecturer across the Midwest and has served as an adjunct professor for the IU School of Optometry.
In 2005, Dr. Wessar was presented with the Indiana University School of Optometry Foley House Basement Key Award which recognizes an alumnus who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and/or service to the IU School of Optometry.
