Indianapolis native, Stephen Goldsmith, served as the 46th mayor of the city of Indianapolis, Indiana, serving two terms from 1992-2000. He then became chief domestic policy advisor to President George W. Bush in 2000 and served as Special Advisor to Bush relative to faith-based and non-profit initiatives. In 2001, he won an appointment as chair of the board of directors for the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Goldsmith, along with four other former and current mayor of Indianapolis, was honored by IUPUI Chancellor Nasser H. Paydar at IUPUI's 50th Anniversary Celebration with the Chancellor's Medallion.
