Dr. Patricia Rogan’s work in education spans 40 years. She is a professor of special education in the School of Education and consults nationally and internationally.
Dr. Rogan’s work focuses on secondary inclusive education, transition from school to adult life, supported employment, organizational and systems change, and state and national policy and practices. She served as the executive associate dean of the Indiana University School of Education at IUPUI from 2008-2015, as the president of the national APSE Network on Employment, and recently worked with Indiana colleagues to pass Employment First legislation.
She also co-led the establishment of the Back Home in Indiana Alliance and co-founded the Skills for Independence, Transition, and Employment (SITE). Dr. Rogan currently co-leads a state Employment First initiative funded by the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities. She spends her summers leading a summer literacy with iPads program for hundreds of youth at 10 Indianapolis Community Centers.
