About Kenneth L. Perrin

From 1997-2002, Perrin served as chancellor of Indiana University South Bend. He led the campus during its expansion and first capital campaign, which raised $3.6 million dollars. Prior to serving at IU, Perrin had been chancellor and senior vice president at the University of Hawaii and president of West Chester University (PA).

While at IUSB, Perrin had a reputation for getting to know everyone on campus. He often referred to IUSB as the "People's University," because he felt strongly about maintaining a good working relationship between the university and the neighboring community.

Perrin held a PhD in Speech and Hearing from Stanford University Medical School. He was a former board member of Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

After retirement from high education in 2002, Perrin and his wife, Shirley, moved to Anapolis, Maryland to be near their family. Perrin died in early 2018.
