George M. Sowers received a bachelor's degree and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. His law degree was earned at the University of Virginia. His relationship with Indiana University has extended past his time as a student; he serves on the IU East Board of Advisors and offers continued distinguished support to the university.
Sowers is an attorney at Knoll, Kolger, Sowers and Metzger. He concentrates his practice in the areas of corporation, real estate and probate law, although the firm does handle other areas such as estate planning and guardianships. Prior to entering private practice, Sowers worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Cale Holder, Judge, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana. He also previously served as deputy prosecuting attorney from 1972 to 1974.
In 2019, Sowers was awarded Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and support of the university.
