Sandra Laney earned a BA degree cum laude from Thomas More College. She additionally received an honorary PhD from the University of the Cumberlands.
Laney is chairman, CEO, and president of Cadre Computer Resources Co. The company, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a security solutions provider that specializes in the sale, support, training, and assessment of network security systems. Prior to joining Cadre, Laney served as Chemed Corporation’s executive vice president and CAO. She is now a director emeritus for the corporation. For almost three decades, Laney’s contributions to building Chemed Corporation and Omnicare, Inc. resulted in the companies’ combined value of approximately $10 billion.
Laney serves on the board of directors of the Indiana University Foundation, and the advisory boards of Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Laney also serves on the board of directors of Omnicare, Inc. Additionally, she serves as the treasurer and trustee of Hutton Bruce Acres, on the Cincinnati Orchestra Board of Overseers, and on the board of trustees of the Cincinnati Community Land Cooperative. Laney is a member of the American Association of University Women, National Organization of Women, International Platform Association, Amnesty International, and Women's Action Council. In 2019, Laney received Indiana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of her distinguished service and contributions.
