About Dame Hilary Boulding

Dame Hilary Boulding received a B.A. while studying music at St. Hilda's College, Oxford. Boulding came to the Indiana University campus as a Branigin Lecturer to discuss some of the UK's approaches to fostering a diverse workforce and preparing the next generation for sustainable careers.

Boulding currently serves as Trinity College's 28th president; the first woman to head the college in its 462-year history. She was previously principal of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, during which time she oversaw several large development projects, including the building of a 450-seat concert hall and a 160-seat theatre. Prior positions include leadership roles as director of music for Arts Council England; and a producer, director, and commissioning editor for the BBC.

Boulding was appointed DBE in The Queen's Birthday Honors list in June 2017, and in 2019, Boulding was honored with Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of her distinguished contributions and support of the university.
