Susan Kovacich received an undergraduate and O.D. degree from Indiana University. Her residency in hospital-based optometry was completed at the John Cochran Veterans Administration Medical Center, after which she practiced at a multidisciplinary clinic with a corneal specialist, both in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kovacich currently works as an associate clinical professor in the Cornea and Contact Lens Clinic at Indiana University’s school of Optometry. She is well-known in her field of expertise, and has been published in optometry, contact lens spectrum, and optometric management.
Kovacich is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and has been active in the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and Association of Optometric Contact Lens Educators. In 2019, Kovacich was awarded Indiana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of her distinguished contributions to optometric education.
