Leah Phillips-Black received a B.S.N. from Indiana University Southeast, and an M.S.N. from Spalding University. She completed neurosurgery clinical hours and neurosurgery NP training at University of Louisville.
Phillips-Black is a neurology nurse practitioner at the Robley Rex VA neurology department in the Louisville, Kentucky area. An experienced nurse practitioner, Phillips-Black has a lengthy history in the medical practice industry. As a healthcare services professional, she is skilled in disease management, nursing education, epidemiology, prevention, and emergency medicine. Prior experience includes a teaching position as an assistant professor at Indiana Wesleyan University, and working as a neurology nurse practitioner at the University of Louisville.
Phillips-Black serves as a member of IU Alumni Association’s Executive Council, and is a valued sponsor of IU Southeast’s Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center. In 2019, Phillips-Black was awarded Indiana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of her service and longstanding support of the university.
