About Clifton Snorten

Clifton Snorten received a B.A. in English Education from Indiana University Bloomington. He also earned an M.A. in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education, and an M.A. in Executive Development for Public Service, both from Ball State University. Snorten is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Education Studies from IUPUI. He is a member of IU's Alumni Association, and serves as president of the Indianapolis chapter of the Neal-Marshall Alumni Club.

Snorten is currently the executive director at Indianapolis Freedom School Partnership, where he oversees the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. He arrived at this position with years of leadership experience. Prior positions include over six years at the US House of Representatives, serving as a senior field representative for Congressman Andre Carson; operations director for The POWER Collective Marketing Agency; and project director at CDF Freedom Schools Program.

Snorten is an active volunteer for a variety of organizations, in addition to those affiliated with Indiana University. He was chair of the Indianapolis Freedom School Partnership's Board of Directors, and president of the Bloom Project, Inc.'s Board of Directors. Snorten was executive director of the Association of Indiana College Gospel Choirs, and business administrator for Made 2 Worship, a local community gospel choir. He also served as secretary and then president for the National Black Graduate Student Association. In 2019, Snorten was honored with Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and longstanding support of the university.
