Stephen Moore received a B.S. in computer science and a B.A. in chemistry from Indiana University. He then trained at the Mayo Clinic, and earned an M.P.H. from John Hopkins University in preventative medicine while serving as chief resident for a year, before returning to Indiana University for an M.D. from the School of Medicine. An Indiana native, Moore’s connection with Indiana University has remained strong. He currently serves on the IU Health Foundation board of directors, and was awarded the Founding Dean’s Medallion from IU’s School of Public Health-Bloomington.
Moore has served as president and CEO of CarDon & Associates for over two decades. CarDon & Associates develops and manages over 20 communities for seniors in the state of Indiana. The senior communities provide long-term care, memory care, nursing and rehabilitation services and assisted living.
Moore is the founding donor of The Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse. The Moore Center is part of the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and is an academic research center dedicated to applying the tools and methodology of prevention to the prevention of child sexual abuse. Moore serves on the board of trustees for Johns Hopkins. In 2019, Moore was awarded Indiana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and public service.
