About Ellis G. Dumas, III

Ellis G. Dumas III received a B.A. in Criminal Justice, African American and African Diaspora Studies from Indiana University. He also earned an M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University. Dumas has continued his relationship with IU since graduating, and in 2019 was named one of IU Bloomington's College of Arts and Sciences "20 under 40" as part of the inaugural list of incredible young alumni.

Dumas serves as Regional Manager for Region 1 of the Indiana Department of Child Services, a region that covers the Lake County area of Northwest Indiana. He provides broad oversight and general supervision for the Lake County area, as well as serving as a field representative to the DCS' central office in Indianapolis and developing and administering budgets.

Dumas says that he's been blessed with an abundance of gifts and believes it's his duty to pass those blessings around in his community. He utilizes access to numerous resources to help serve the community, and works to ensure the community knows the department is there to help. Dumas previously served as a financial services supervisor at Indiana University, and currently serves on the board for the College of Arts and Sciences at IU Bloomington. In 2019, Dumas was awarded Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and service.
