Robert Gerber received a B.A. in criminal justice and political science from Indiana University. He earned a J.D. from the John Marshall Law School. While in law school, he was executive editor of the John Marshall Law Review and a member of the Order of John Marshall. Gerber remains actively involved with Indiana University, currently serving on the Alumni Board of the College of Arts & Sciences and the Dean of Students Parent Advisory Board at Indiana University.
Gerber is a partner at the law firm Neal Gerber and Eisenberg. He chairs the firm's Corporate & Securities practice group and is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Additionally, he is a strategic advisor to wealthy families and entrepreneurs concerning critical business decisions and personal matters and counsels clients on the transition of business leadership and wealth across generations. Gerber is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
Gerber is active in serving the community. A member of the board of regents of Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Gerber is also vice president of the American Friends of Hebrew University’s Midwest Board. He is a member of the development committee of the Chicago Legal Aid Clinic. In 2019, Gerber was awarded Indiana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and support of the university.
