Ken Baierl received a B.S. in communications from the University of Wisconsin, and a master of liberal studies from Indiana University South Bend.
Baierl is recently retired from his position in leadership at IU South Bend. He served as chief of staff and director of communications and marketing in the chancellor’s office for fifteen years. Prior experience includes a decade at KeyBank and KeyCorp, where Baierl held a variety of roles, including a public relations officer, senior manager and vice president in the field of public affairs. He additionally worked for WNDU-TV as an assistant new director, assignment editor, producer, reporter and anchor.
In 2019, Baierl was awarded Indana University’s Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and years of service to the university and surrounding community.
