- Bicentennial Medal - 2020
Jeremy Hackerd earned a B.A. in history and political science from IU Bloomington and a M.A. in history from IUPUI. While at IUPUI he served as a teaching assistant and was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. After graduate school, Hackerd managed the State of Indiana’s historical marker program for three years.
At IU, Hackerd has served as a Research Associate at the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands, Assistant Director of the Great Lakes Park Training Institute, and as the Indiana University Bicentennial Project Manager. In the Office of the President, he served as the Director of the University Honors and Awards and as Director of Strategic Initiatives. He is currently Assistant Director of Special Projects with Indiana University Collections.
In 2020, Hackerd was awarded Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished service and support of the university.
