About Rosalia Misseri

Dr. Rosalia Misseri earned her B.A. in psychobiology from New York University in 1992 and her M.D. from the State University of New York at Brooklyn in 1996. She completed a urology residency at the State University of New York-Downstate. Upon completion, she continued her medical training at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) where she completed a pediatric urology fellowship in 2004. Misseri joined the IUSM faculty in 2006 as a visiting professor of urology. She was promoted to associate professor in 2012 and full professor in 2017. She earned the additional, honorary title of Robert A Garrett Professor of Pediatric Urologic Research in 2020.

Prior to joining the IU faculty, Misseri held academic appointments at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and the State University of New York – Downstate Medical Center. Misseri’s clinical practice is specialized in pediatric urology, and she is based at the Riley Hospital for Children. She is actively involved in all phases of pediatric urology with special interests in the management of adolescent patients and adult patients with congenital urogenital abnormalities.

Throughout her teaching and practicing career, Misseri has been honored with numerous awards and accolades. She received the Riley Hospital for Children’s Red Shoe Award in 2009, 2010, and 2013 to recognize her outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the hospital and family-centered care. She was also named the Pfizer Scholar in Urology in both 2002 and 2004.
