Trent Williams earned his B.A. in English and philosophy from Bringham Young University and his M.A. in strategy/OBHR from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. He later continued his education at Indiana University (IU) Kelley School of Business where he earned his M.B.A. and Ph.D. Upon completion, he continued his teaching career at the IU Kelley School of Business. He was awarded the additional, honorary title of William L. Haeberle Professor of Entrepreneurship in 2020.
Williams has also worked for PwC Consulting, Deloitte Consulting, 10XMarketing, and StoneMantel Consulting. His primary areas of expertise include strategy and entrepreneurship, design sprints and innovation, resourcefulness and resilience to adversity, and community-embedded venture emergence.
Throughout his robust teaching, research, and professional career, Williams has been honored with numerous awards and opportunities. In 2019, he earned the Oslan Family Faculty Fellowship in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the IU Kelley School of Business. He was named a “40 Under 40” award winner by P&Q in 2021, a Best Paper award winner by Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference in 2020, and a Responsible Research in Management IACMR Presidental Award winner in 2019.
