Kyle D. Cattani earned his B.S. from Bringham Young University in 1984 and his M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1986. Upon graduating, he continued his education at Stanford University where he earned his Ph.D. in 1997. He joined the Indiana University (IU) Kelley School of Business faculty in 2005 as an associate professor of operations and decision technologies. He was promoted to full professor in 2018 and earned the additional, honorary title of SungKyunKwan Professor in 2020. Cattani also served as chairperson of the Master of Business Administration Program.
Prior to beginning his IU career, Cattani served on the faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has experience at the Hewlett Packard Company. He has also served as the senior editor of the Production and Operations Management Society and the associate editor of the Journal of Operations Management. His primary areas of expertise include operations management, supply chain management, managing operations in the presence of uncertainty, managing product end-of-life, and mass customization.
Cattani has received several honors and awards for his superb teaching career. He received a Trustees’ Teaching Award from IU in 2010, 2012, and 2018 to recognize his outstanding teaching at the university.
