About Glen Mays

Glen Mays received a bachelor's degree in political science from Brown University, M.P.H. and Ph.D. degrees in health services research from UNC-Chapel Hill, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health economics at Harvard Medical School.

Mays is Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Systems, Management and Policy at the Colorado School of Public Health, University of Colorado. He studies strategies for organizing and financing public health services, preventive care, and prevention policy, with a focus on estimating the health and economic effects of these efforts. Prior experience includes positions of leadership at the University of Kentucky, where he was a professor of health services and systems research, and at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he was a professor and chairman of health policy and management.

Mays has professionally collaborated with the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, at IUPUI, including participating in meetings of the Fairbanks School of Public Health National Advisory Council. In 2019, Mays was awarded Indiana University's Bicentennial Medal, in recognition of his distinguished contributions and support.
