This prestigious international exchange program supports students and young professionals of high achievement and potential to study at the graduate level, conduct research, or teach worldwide. The award was established in 1946 under legislation introduced by Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
This list includes faculty who were affiliated with IU at the time they received the Fulbright Award. The long tradition of Fulbright awardees at IU started in 1951, and the university has seen award recipients every year since 1979. Their awards and international work bring prestige and perspective to Indiana University.
