Established in 1966 by IU’s twelfth president, Elvis J. Stahr, this award honors up to five seniors on the Bloomington campus who have excelled academically while serving as active student leaders. Their names are added to a permanent plaque that hangs in the Indiana Memorial Union.
With all of the academic and social pressures, some seniors rise to the challenge exceptionally well and serve as leaders and examples to the student body. The university honors these students with the Stahr Senior Award each year.
