John W. Ryan Award for International Programs

This award, also known as the John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies, was initiated in 1991. The award is named for the late Indiana University President Emeritus John W. Ryan, who led the university from 1971 to 1987 and was instrumental in fostering IU’s commitment to excellence in international education. The Ryan Award honors Indiana University faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to the university's international programs and engagement. Up to two awards are given annually to tenure-line, full-time faculty members who may represent any IU campus. The awards are given based on nominations. Successful nominees will be expected to prepare a dossier

The award will be presented at the Celebration of Distinguished Teaching and accompanied by a certificate and a cash award.

Initiated in 1991, the John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies honors faculty members and librarians from all campuses for exceptional contributions to the university’s international programs and studies. This list contains all recipients of the John Ryan Award.
