The Frederic Bachman Lieber Memorial Award is the oldest teaching award at IU, established in 1951 and first awarded in 1954. The award was created through a gift from Ms. Katie D. Bachman in memory of her grandson, Frederic Bachman Lieber to recognize outstanding ability and skill in teaching.
These honorees have shown dedication to helping their students reach and expand. Honorees are also masters of their subject, advancing their field and how it is taught.
